Penguins Sign Hall, Reduce Roster to 22

The Pittsburgh Penguins have reduced their roster to 22 players, it was
announced Monday by Executive Vice President/General Manager Ray Shero.

Defensemen Kris Letang and Mike Weaver, along with forwards Jonathan
Filewich, Jeff Taffe, and Ryan Stone have been assigned to the Wilkes-
Barre/Scranton Penguins, the American Hockey League (AHL) affiliate of the
Pittsburgh Penguins. The AHL club is set to open the regular season on
Wednesday.

In addition, Adam Hall signed a one-year, two-way contract. He joined the
Penguins prior to the start of training camp on a professional try-out
agreement and appeared in all six preseason games for the club.

ditto. bummer about letang. but i guess at least he's in minors and

Yeah...I didn't pay close attention to training camp, but was a bit
surprised that Letang is going to WBS, since they were so high on him. It
seemed for sure he was going to be in Pittsburgh this season. But at least
he's available and ready, should there be any injuries or one of the
defenseman just isn't working out.

And yes, I'm very excited about the new season. I already added the NHL
Center Ice package again, so I can watch the Penguin games up here in NH :-)
