But, but, but, but, but...look at all their injuries.

Oh, the irony!

Oh that's right...we're supposed to whine about our team's demise
being caused by injuries rather than a lack of effort and focus on the
ice night in and night out for the past 9 months. Sorry, I guess
we'll just never be as good as Buffalo fans.

"The irony" indeed.

So injuries had NOTHING to do with it? Gotta hand it to you GD. You're
consistent, if not wrong.

Its what I call Lord Stanley's Curse... it been years since a team has
won the old man's cup two years in a roll.
I don't know what happens, they get big heads, they party too much , I
just don't know.
But hey, at least the Canes can say they the first and so far only pro
team to have won the top prize in NC.

Maybe know that they've had it and lost it... they'll get that desire
back and get t again next year.

actually they lost LESS man-games this year than all of last year, so
i would tend to say the injuries are NOT what led to the team missing
the playoffs.

the inconsistent play, not only in the last 1/3 of the season, but ALL
YEAR is what led to the team not making the playoffs.

I've read that the Canes lost over 300-man games this year. And I'd dare
anyone to go up to a Canes player, say Brind'Amour and say that the reason
they failed to make the playoffs was because they didn't give full effort.

They learned that when you win folk play better against you
They learned that last year may as well be 100 years ago.
They learned that saying we have to work harder isn't working harder
They learned it is a team effort

As for injuries......EVERY team has them so if you blame anything you
aren't doing the job. There is never any reason to blame anything

I hope Karmonos ass is so puckered Rutherford can't get his pindick
in there.

Good organizations are Detroit, Colorado, New Jersey, Dallas, Buffalo
and maybe Ottawa and Anaheim but not the Canes even though they have
history now. Too bad they still need to learn pride. Not everyone but
most of the organization.

i'm not saying they didn't lose alot of man-games, but again, the
point was (just in case you missed it) that they actually lost MORE
man-games the season they won the Cup. besides, its foolish to blame
anything on injuries - thats just the nature of hockey and sports in-
general.

and i never said they didn't give full effort. i said it was the
inconsistent play that led to them missing the playofffs.

Dude you guys are missing the real deal here. Team wins the
cup....Salary Cap....Cup Champs cannot afford to pay several key
players anymore.....Cup Champs loose several key players to other
teams who have money to pay these guys what they want.......Next years
team not the same......

This is the new NHL....no more Detroits where you buy the best team .
You win and next year you can not afford to keep the same team
together.
