Seems like they never stop. There's a thread over at the Feeder about
it, supposedly DW is shopping Marleau around. http://tinyurl.com/6jvpj4
The stupid part of this thread is that no one asks the obvious, "will
DW make a salary dumping move?"
Of course no one is going to take Marleau's huge salary and meager
performance from last year in exchange for some scoring winger, or
shutdown defenseman. If some other team has a Marleau I suppose they
could swap but what would be the point?
No the trade would be for a lesser player, or at least a less proven
player, and perhaps some draft sugar thrown in. That is the real
question. And I don't doubt the possibility that the Shark will move
Marleau, because their days of dressing a team on the cheap are over
unless they make exactly this kind of move. Are they going to go cheap
on us yet again?
Ask that at the friggin meeting tomorrow. >> Stay informed about: Here we go with the Marleau rumors again |

They raised my tickets $8/game for next year--nothing cheap about that! >> Stay informed about: Here we go with the Marleau rumors again |

Hmmmm....maybe they will spend. I guess when you dont have the big TV
deal you gotta have high ticket prices. >> Stay informed about: Here we go with the Marleau rumors again |

Is it possible that he will be traded for 1 or 2 high draft pick(s),
possibly the 1st overall? >> Stay informed about: Here we go with the Marleau rumors again |

I'm guessing he could get a first round pick but no where near the
top. I've heard others say no to the 1st round pick. >> Stay informed about: Here we go with the Marleau rumors again |

Probably the 1st 5 picks, I'd guess.

LOL. There's posters on the Feeder that said well OK give him away,
but get a shutdown D and a scoring winger. Yeah, take our overpaid-
underperformer and give us a bunch of gold in return.
If the Sharks offered me Marleau for a single, very late, 1st round
pick I would at least consider it (I could be high for even saying
that). I might not take it, especially if this draft is as deep as it
is. >> Stay informed about: Here we go with the Marleau rumors again |

Notice how they offer someone they feel is expendable if the Sharks
absorb Marleau's salary. Sounds way too one-sided for me! Using their
logic and gall, how about Marleau for Nash even up? >> Stay informed about: Here we go with the Marleau rumors again |
