From sharkspage.com -
"McLellan, who was responsible for the Detroit forwards and power play,
finished his third year as a Red Wings assitant coach with an NHL
Stanley Cup Championship. McLellan coached the AHL Houston Aeros to an
AHL Calder Cup Championship in 2003, and was named 2000 WHL coach of
the year with Swift Current. Detroit Red Wings general manager Ken
Holland cited McLellan's preperation and ability to instill work ethic
as two reasons for McLellan's sucess in Detroit."
Also, per Habib - In a barely related Denver Post article from early
May, which was tossing McLellan out as a possible choice for the Avs
headcoaching position, McLellan said the following: "So I'd like to
coach a high-tempo, fast, puck-possession type team."
McLellan said those right words to Doug Wilson, now lets see if he can deliver.
Sounds like they'll sign Campbell for puck-possession and get rid of a
few players who can only dump and chase.
