If you will think back to 9/11, the terrorists flew out from Logan Airport
in Boston.... So, being extra careful now works for me.... too bad they
weren't as attentive back then. Maybe that's why I don't look at the past
few days the same way you do... But to each his or her own.... So far, this
is a free country.....

Do you have any idea what transpired that day? You clearly haven't bothered
to find out, just flappin' your jaw.

Free to hide in your box. In your case, it's obvious the terrorists have
won. I'm happy to see that you think the USA should be less free, and that
you are bitter it's not.

I looked at the evidence. The evidence was the city of Boston going into
an unnecessary panic, when other cities with similar Light Bright boards
did not.

Oh please. Where were you watching from? I assure you there was no panic.
Down three games to none against the Yankees. There was panic :) Don't
take these reporters so seriously..."reporting live from a panic srticken
Boston..." Come on. A few people were pissed about the inconvenience of a
couple of detours. Traffic doesn't constitute *panic*.

So I'm assuming you think the city took the proper steps during this
crisis?

Pretty much. Don't forget, this was not just the City of Boston. The State
Police, including their own bomb squad participated as well as Homeland
Security. Believe me Mayor "Mumbles" Menino was not alone in overseeing
this effort.

Was there some over-reaction? Maybe a bit. Better than the alternative.
Taking something like this too lightly. I'll tell you one thing. The
people who ran this *guerilla marketing* campaign knew early on what was
happening and could have ended the "threat" quickly and easily with a phone
call, but for some reason, not only didn't bother but told the two
knuckleheaded *artists* to keep quiet. Incidentally that firm is based in
NY, where much of this derision for Boston is now coming from. You would
think people in NY of all places would take this business a bit less
cavalierly.

That's nice. Can you tell a real pipe bomb from a fake one? They found two
of those too. Did you even know that?

I can tell the difference between a pipe bomb and a Lite Brite, too.

How long had the pipe bombs been there? Years?
