Both got their jock straps hung out to dry on the 2nd Florida goal. Redden
burned by a badly timed pinch, refuses to take out the player (Horton I
believe) and then can't get back. Then on the pass across from Horton to the
eventual goal scorer Corvo just looks at the puck instead of going for the
man WITH the puck to try and make the stop, block the pass across, or
anything! It's no wonder this defence looks as bad as swiss cheese! If not
for Emery, we'd be down 3 or 4 goals already on pathetic defencive play by
everyone!

IIRC Redden has a no-trade contract. He can only be moved if he wants to go.

Just my opinion Kyle, but I don't think we're getting "great" goaltending
from either of our guys to boot. I know the D is getting burned badly
lately, but neither of these guys is playing well enough to steal a game
for us - not even one. Emery looks a bit better these days, but to me,
he isn't near a competent back there as he was last season when he was
1st star of the game at least once a week. I think the combination of
his wrist surgery, multi-million dollar contract, and poor work ethic
have taken the shine off his game. I don't know what's up with Gerby,
but to me, he's been "average" as well. It's like the whole team has
fallen into a blue funk of mediocrity and it's hard to crawl out...

Oh I'm not saying either Darth Gerber or Rayzor Ray are without fault, trust
me! But look at tonight's game - Boyle in his first game back walks all the
way through Neil, Corvo, Schubert and two other Sens players that I could
not see on the replays and puts one past Gerber that should have been
stopped. But my point is, both Corvo and Redden seem to be really slacking
of late, more so than others. I know Volchenkov and Phillips aren't doing
good either - the "shutdown duo" has been getting shut down far too often
and not earning their keep either. But when you have Redden at $6.5 mill and
Corvo at $2.6 this season as the top 3 highest paid D-men, I expect a lot
better!

And just to add insult to injury, Corvo blew it again on Tampa's second goal
just seconds after Alfie gets his 6th point of the game assisting on Robie's
re-direct! And now the Sens once again screw up by getting too fancy and
Gerber getting smoked! This is just sick!!

And yet again, Corvo is in there for the 4th Tampa goal. By my count that
should make him at least a -3 on the night unless he was in on any of the
Ottawa goals.

And anyone imagine if Daniel Alfredsson was NOT playing tonight? We'd be one
DEAD team yet again!
