Perhaps if he left the ice and went up into the stands to buy a beer,
maybe.

You can't expect him to show up 3 games in a row.

Don't worry, Gomez will start his 5-10 game invisible streak too, or
is it going on 26 games now?

Just send him a scarf for Christmas to perk him up. European men love
wearing frilly things around their necks.

Actually, I'm not entirely sure Eastern Europeans celebrate
Christmas. Maybe for Soviet Day or something.

They celebrate, it's just that their Christmas trees are giant,
concrete blocks, their presents are giant, concrete blocks, and they
decorate the outside of their homes with giant, concrete blocks
painted a festive dirty gray.

From what I saw, the people in the seats were more interested.

I suppose singing carols around the flaming, burned-out husks of cars
and Cold War Era tanks is a tradition us Westerners could never
understand. Drab, unsightly winter coats and Colorado Rockies 2007
World Series Champions T-shirts are probably going to be big sellers
over there this season.

Somewhere, some poor Slovakian kid likely grew up thinking the Buffalo
Bills won four Super Bowls. For his sake, I hope he never learns the
truth.

R.J.

He's looking forward to Omsk.
