I just hope none of you are betting on my picks, seeing as how I'm
almost dead last.

Detroit in six
Pittsburgh in seven

Are we doing double points here, then quadruple in the finals? We should
;-)

Here are my picks, commentary is free of charge.

Dallas vs Detroit - Dallas in 7

This is going to be a great series methinks. Dallas is actually getting
better as they get deeper, Morrow is playing amazing, Turco looks the best
he's ever looked and Zubov is healthy.

Philly vs Pittsburgh - Golden Boys (Pitts) in 5

Gary's gang is finally going to pull the beaded curtain back and expose
Biron for what he his (a career back-up with poor goalie fundamentals).
Biron has never played this well, for this long, ever in his entire
professional career. I expect the return of the lean-mean rebound machine
this series, and a heaping helping of Flyers in the sin bin.

Book it!

Your prediction doesn't take into account the heaping helping of
Penguins out with injury as a result of the heaping helping of Flyers in
the sin bin.

This is true. There must be some delicate balance where the number of
injuries sustained and the number of penalties called find some symbiotic
balance... my Happy Gilmore is a little rusty (heh, that doesn't sound very
good), what's the penalty for taking off your skate and trying to stab a guy
with it again? Whatever it is they might as well pre-emptively give that
one to Hatcher. Just have him start the series in the penalty box wearing a
necklace made out of Crosby's missing teeth.

Depends. If the victim is Sidney Crosby, the penalty is lifetime
suspension. If the victim is Sean Avery, the penalty is a faceoff next
to the frozen blood stain. And if the perpetrator is Mike Milbury, the
penalty is a broadcasting career with NBC. Sadly, this penalizes the
fans, too.

Is there an over/under on Hatcher's penalty minutes? It must be about
10 billion.

You'd think the players would be afraid of catching something from Avery's
stain.

Wanna know the state of the game in the good 'ol USA? Look at the 'talent'.
Keith Jones, Mike Milbury and the Mullet McMullethead twins (there's about
four of them, so pick a pair, any pair). F me sideways it's painful
watching a hockey broadcast south of the 49th.
