What a crazy year.

* Western conference playoff positions 2-8 are separated by 3 points.
* Eastern conference positions 2-11 are separated by 4 points.
* Only 2 teams in the West have a record below .500
* Only 3 teams in the East have a record below .500
* Both in the southeast conference, and 2 of the teams are only 2 games
below .500.
* One of those teams (Atlanta) just beat the BEST team in the east.

Parity is alive and well in the NHL.

Yes. And it is really noticeable during games. The Wild have been
playing very well this season, and their opponents all seem to be
fairly evenly matched with them.

Well, except for the Wings, who are really in a class of their own.
It's a steep drop-off from the Wings down to everyone else, IMO.

Hopefully Lemaire will have the guys take a tough stand at home
tomorrow night against the Wings. That would be a sweet holiday
gift for the Wild and their fans if the Wild could pull off that upset
at home!

Go Wild!!!

Still Waiting for the Signings - We need scoring.....I am getting sick of hearing Risebrough say what a young team this is. Okay Doug, what is your point? That still doesn't change the fact that we need a couple of high scoring forwards to even compete in the playoffs. I think onc...

Risebrough on WCCO Radio This Morning - We are cheap!!!! - Basically Risebrough said they did their thing last year, and this year they were not going to be real active. Just as I thought. This is a pure money saving venture. They pacify fans by getting to the playoffs and then getting blown out in the..

Risebrough...We Are Done With the FA Signings - There you go!!! He even admitted they are well under the cap but it wouldn't be "prudent" (meaning would take profit away from the Wild owners because they are so darn cheap) to sign anyone at this point. MINNESOTA WILD>>>>>&...

Wild FA Rating...From HOCKEY NEWS - Minnesota Wild Signed Up: Petr Kalus (trade/Bos) Signed Out: Manny Fernandez (trade/Bos), Todd White (Atl) My 10 cents, in 10 words or less: Treading water while competition improves has Wild fans increasingly nervous. Free Agent/Trade Grade: C-
