SensTV slightly messed up the SD broadcast for the first period again
(very pixely), but they got it straightened out for the rest of the game,
thank goodness.
It looks to me like the team is finally regaining its stride after
allowing the wheels to fall off during that whopping seven-game slide. I
thought Ray was very sharp in goal for this one and I'd start him again
next game. Everybody showed up to play, and aside from a couple of
brain-cramps, they're starting to look good again like they did when they
started off the season, although The A-Train is noticeably conspicuous by
his absence. They miss Eaves too.
I thought Alfie looked the healthiest he's been since his groin injury,
which really makes an impact on the whole team. Antoine Vermette's goal
was absolutely supernatural! This guy has incredible skill, and you can
see him getting better and better with experience. Chris Neil took 4
minutes for sending the message that you don't rough up any of the pizza
guys without facing the music (apparently, the guy said he was willing
to go, but then he turtled). Nice of Heatley to give the empty-netter to
Kelly, who hasn't scored in about 8 games. We'll see if it helps him get
back in the offensive groove.
I have to say, the Dallas PK is a thing of beauty. Man are they good.
Very aggressive, quick and organized. The Sens more passive PK bugs me a
bit because it often ends up looking like a shooting-gallery. I wish
they'd adopt a more aggressive style, although they do impress with their
opportunistic approach when they score short-handed goals.
Great hockey game all around though - lots of action, skill and speed
from both teams. Now, they've got a couple of wins to build on...
