When you're 24th of 30 teams in scoring and 1-4 at home, you're not
going anywhere fast.

Presently, if Nabby has an off night, they're almost out of it because
they can't score goals. It's downright painful to watch this offense.

Well as I was saying in the other thread, I actually thought this game
was a step up, even though yeah Nabby and Joe didn't have great
nights. If they would have played like that in the playoffs it would
have been a lot more tolerable. For once the other team scored a bunch
of deflating goals, all the calls went against them, and they still
played like they were pissed and wanted to win.

They need to fix both halves of the problem: attitude and
effectiveness. Last night was one half of the loaf.

Talent plus the right attitude ought to lead to effectiveness.

The thing I really liked about last night is that five minutes into
the first, it was clearly going to be "one of those nights" -- but the
players didn't seem to let their heads drop.

The things I really didn't like were, of course, the goals - all of
them. Now, granted that I didn't have the best picture available to
me, I was surprised that the first beat Nabokov. And two breakaway
goals speak for themselves. Oh, and Bernier's 1st period
unsportsmanlike penalty - presumably for mouthing off to the ref.
Yeah, you've had two bad calls against you in 10 minutes or so, but
that's no excuse for compounding the situation by adding an extra two
minutes of PK onto it.
