staal will get better and he's huge for an 18 year old. i don't see
the innate offensive ability that malkin has so i guess it depends on
what you (cherry) mean by better. malkin leads the team in goals
despite missing the start of the season.

it could be ugly again for the penguins. their D was running around
and overmatched last night. you would think the *effort* will be
better tonight-- and the for some reason the pens always play the
whalers better on the road-- but i kinda doubt the result will be much
different. >> Stay informed about: Orpik game tonight... |

he doesn't like skill players. he'll never forgive sidney for putting
the puck on the blade of his stick and dunking it into the net for a
goal-- what did he call him, a "showboater." crosby was like 16 at the
time. malkin has some similarities to mario, but IMO he backchecks,
plays well in his own end, doesn't "cherry-pick," and is more physical
than 66 was in the early part of his career.

if the penguins move to KC will you be happy? or would the bitterness
linger? especially if all this young talent develops into a Cup
contender.
hurricanes is actually a cool team name, but what happened with those
hideous uniforms and logos? did roger waters design them or something?

i thought MAF looked out of control and sketchy vs. ottawa. in the
rest of the games he has played better. he'll turn 22 pretty soon and
that's the only thing holding him back-- experience at the NHL level.
he's gonna be a solid #1 goalie in the NHL . . . heck, he already is
pretty much.
his rebounds have been directed to the corners and handled much better
this year. *he hasn't been perfect.* he has improved though IMO. >> Stay informed about: Orpik game tonight... |

Nah....Orpik will scramble and hide like he did for how long before
attempting to apologize to Cole?
Heck, it's possible he may be scratched tonight.
I hope Cole gets another Hat Trick and burns past Orpik on the wing.
:-p
In seriousness, it'll be a tough game to watch as always. I wonder if
Fleury will play tonight. Personally, I'd take Ward of MAF any day.
Then you throw in Ward vs. Crosby & Malkin. The second battle of the
Staal's. (By the way Don Cherry thinks Jordan Staal will be better than
Malkin, but then again he's biased.)
It should be a very good skating game...and fun to watch.

Well Grapes is biased since Staal is Candian. he meant that in a few years
that Jordan could possibly be better than Malkin. Who he calls Mario
Malkin..he calls Crosby, "Golden Boy". I always record HNIC from my center

The Canes will probably shoot a lot as a result. And if Fleury is in net,
and he gives up those rebounds, Yes I know everyone says he's better, but
the rebounds still seem very bad, you are right it could be a long night for
the Pens. >> Stay informed about: Orpik game tonight... |

He certainly has...I think the team messed around with him way too much the
past few years though.
Heatley's first goal last night was off a typical Fleury rebound though.

Being the "Seventh greatest Canadian" is a bit like being the tallest guy
at a midget covention...
No offense, Canadians... but there was like, Neil Young, the guys from
"Rush" and the manager at Molson's bottling plant.
That still leaves the 6th greatest missing, as Rush is a power trio.
