Anyone have a break down on our PP so far (how many times we've scored
with it, shots on goal during PP, total PP minutes)?

Zach

It's actually respectable.

18.1%
No. 12 in the league.
8/44

not to be confused with Minnesota, who is a WHOPPING 10/32. Wow.

nothing official here, but during the bruins game there were two whole
power plays where they didn't even get set up!! chase the puck, dump
it in, get outworked, chase the puck, dump it in, get outworked . . .

there has been some improvment though. getting gonchar away from
lemieux has been a plus; whether it's on the crosby unit or at the
right D position on the other side of the rink. the pens still miss a
solid faceoff guy to gain possession and/or someone who can carry the
puck into the zone without having to dump it in and chase. they've
gotten a little better, of course not enough to get excited about
though. especially in the game context when the pens have been unable
to capitalize on a PP at key times in the game where they could capture
momentum . . .

or at least that it only works if you actually "chase" after dumping
the puck.

palffy finished +2 and even made a pathetic attempt to get into a
little scrap in front of the net. but he MADE THE ATTEMPT; showed
some effort and heart. i'm not enamored with the guy, but since i've
been slamming him for a couple weeks now i need to recognize that he
had a pretty good game even if it didn't mean much in the broader
context of the team winning.

Agree. The term "key" is the key. lol.

I wonder if they will ever figure out if dump 'n' chase just no longer
works.
