I really hope Ziggy isn't leaving the Kings over money because I remember just
a few years ago when Blake was refusing to sign because he wanted more money
per year how Palffy stood up and said Blake should be more of a team player and
not let the team go to hell cuz of his ego. I thought more of Ziggy than being
a hypocrit. I think he'll end up signing with a team like Ottawa where he can
play more his style of game instead of having to spend so much time playing
defense, and not to mention, a team that is obviously committed to winning,
which the Kings have certainly not proven themselves to be. >> Stay informed about: Looks Like Palffy's Gone |

because we all know how Ottawa keeps hoisting that Cup year after
year....or at least going to the Stanley Cup Finals perennially.
go Kings!!

hehe yeah
i think palffy is better off in LA, if he goes somewhere that already has
a lot of offensive talent, he'll be cut back in his ice time, and i don't
think
he wants that. it's a player like palffy that can keep the kings an
explosive
team up front. plus, even if he has to play defensively, he's not too bad
at
that imho. :)

I should expect such moronic remarks from you, Bri. Ottawa has consistently
been among the top teams in the Eastern Conference and managed to build one of
the best teams in the NHL in only 10 years. They are the prime example of how
to build an expansion team into a winner, and it was only by a fluke really
that Tampa instead of the Sens was the first 90's expansion team to win a Cup. >> Stay informed about: Looks Like Palffy's Gone |

whether you view it as a fluke or not, Tampa is a better team than
Ottawa. some of us even picked the Lightning, even when they were down
3-2 games in the Finals, so I don't exactly see how you think they just
got lucky. many of us saw their best qualities that would carry them
all the way and weren't watching with your blinders on.
making the 2nd round of the playoffs every year is nice and all as far
as the Sens go.....but that's about it. only 10 years huh? boy I can
just see the fun in going to the draft lottery year after year to try to
accomplish that. excuse me as I try to contain myself.
definitely not a fan of them, but I'd rather emulate the NJ Devils
anyday. which seems to be what the Kings do about half the time.
Allison and Deadmarsh no big loss....Ziggy we can't do much about if he
rejects 2 or 3 offers around 20 million for 3 years. I just wish his
stupid agent would tell the team his demands, apparently it's best left
a mystery?

i think the major diff between TB and OTT was the goaltending
Bulin makes Lalime look like a carboard cutout.
lol
which was pretty much what Martin said when he was fired from
the sens, they had a great team but the goaltending wasn't good
enough to get a cup. which is probably why they're gonna sign
Hasek : )

the big difference i see between the two was that blake was wanting to back up
a brinks truck to the kings vault, while i'm willing to bet palffy would be
fine if he could keep making what he made last year instead of getting a pay
cut. of course, if palffy and his agent don't communicate their desires to the
kings - and they haven't so far from what i hear - it won't really matter what
the kings offer.
i don't see any reason for the kings to try and low ball palffy. they did that
to luc a couple of years ago. it'll make players want to leave in record
numbers if they keep it up. . .

Well Blake was trying to go from what $7mil a year to $9mil a year or so.
Kings offered Blake 5 years for $40 mil and he refused that. Wasn't he making
$7mil the season he was traded or was it $5mil? I thought we gave him like $21
mil for 3 years in the prior contract. As for Ziggy and his Brink's truck. He
made $7mil last year and I don't see anyone else stepping up at the moment to
pay him that much or more. The Kings have supposedly offered him $19.5mil for
3 years; which is a slight paycut of 500k a year, but to be really honest, in
the current state of the NHL Ziggy should jump at that. To me that is not LOW
BALLING Ziggy. Can someone please just low ball me to the tune of that 500k a
year difference and I'd be happier than a clam. :/ Jeff >> Stay informed about: Looks Like Palffy's Gone |
