Radim Vrbata has twice as many points this season as Pavel Datsyuk.

He's playing first line minutes.

Hmh. Didn't someone just say something about Vrbata being able to
produce if he got the minutes and linemates? I coulda sworn I read that
somewhere around here.

I suspect that'll work itself out as the season goes along. Vrbata's
not a bad player, but he's not as good as Datsyuk.

Henrik Zetterberg has more than twice as many points as Joe Sakic.

Two whole games into the season. Now that's impressive.

Well, now that Radim's locked up the Hart, who do we hand the Vez too?

Depends.

People thought the same thing about Craig Conroy after his days in St
Louis. Then, he gets to Calgary and look what happens.

Vrbata is an immensely skilled offensive player. When you give him ice
time and linemates, he produces. If he keeps getting ice time with the
first or second line, I would not be at all surprised if he remained
neck and neck with Datsyuk in scoring this year.

Enh, I don't see much difference. A lot of it is opportunity. Neither of
them are anything at all defensively, and there certainly isn't a
noticeable difference between them on the defensive side. Both are
offensively gifted. They are the same size, and neither are physical.

I just don't see much difference, other than opportunity.

Their production is a function of their opportunity.

Very similar players. Very different opportunities. Vrbata has gotten a
better opportunity this year, and he's flourishing so far.

Could be their ability, too.

'Flourishing'? 2 points on 3 shots in 2 games?

Dude, 125 players have at least 2 points right now. :-)

It's not, in this case.

He's putting up points playing 1st line minutes, just like I said he
would. It's definitely still early (1/41st of the way through the
season), but he's producing. And Datsyuk isn't.

I said that he'd score if he were given the opportunity, while the
idiots said he wouldn't. So far, I am right. Sample size, yes. But that
doesn't change the fact that I have been right so far.

Can we expect you to post that you're wrong the very second he slides
under a point-per-game? I mean, as long as we're going to update on a
game-by-game basis.

Considering that you once claimed that Kronwall was a future Norris
winner, I'd stow the comments about being dumb if I were you.

Frankly neither is completely true - they are just such hard core avs fan
(well the other idiot is equally a wings hater) they have no unbiased
perspective on anthying. So you can forget any objective conversation - it
is always avs spin - did you see all the nonsense when they missed the
play-offs last year....
