The Atlanta Thrashers have reassigned goaltender ADAM BERKHOEL (BUHRK-
uhl) to the Chicago Wolves. In addition, the Wolves have released
netminder GREGG NAUMENKO (NAH-MEN-KO).
The Wolves have had 33 transactions this month ? including 16 with
Atlanta ? after experiencing just 10 in October last year. In 2003-04,
the National Hockey League's last season, Chicago underwent just nine
roster changes during that month.
BERKHOEL registered 32 saves on 35 shots to record his first NHL win on
Oct. 22 against the New Jersey Devils. The 24-year-old netminder made
his NHL debut on Oct. 15, recording 24 saves on 29 shots in a 5-1 loss
to the New York Rangers. Overall, he posted a 1-2-0 mark with a 3.96
goals-against average and a .874 save percentage in two stints with the
Thrashers this season.
The St. Paul, Minn., native collected 40 saves on 42 shots to earn his
first American Hockey League win on Oct. 7 against the Omaha Ak-Sar-Ben
Knights. He has recorded a 1-1-0 mark and a 2.53 goals-against average
in two games with the Wolves this year.
NAUMENKO notched a 1-2-0 record with a 2.37 goals-against average and a
..885 save percentage in three games with the Wolves.
