....referred to Blake's "mini-slump" at the start of this season...and
inquired if the diagnosis played a part in it.

Blake incredulously said: "mini-slump, is that what you guys call it
here...it's only been three games..."

Welcome to Toronto Mr. Blake.

I wonder how long it'll be before some reporter calls him a distraction, or
the old cliché of a "<blank> in the dressing room". These vermin are
disgusting. Imagine asking a guy that question in another job. "Hey Mr.
So-and-So... Do you think your diagnosis has reflected on your drop in sales
this week at the car dealership?"

I hope Blake rips it up this season. He really seems like a good dude.

I've twice played on teams where a guy got diagnosed with cancer
(thyroid both times both still fine). We found that it really brought
everyone together, especially when things were tough as It kind put
things in perspective. We actually used to joke with one guy about
him literally being a cancer in the dressing room. It's kind of dark
humour but he actually thought it was funny. But you aren't going to
hear that one in the media or they'd get lynched.

Here's hoping he has a great year.

Well...he's actually sort of a brusque jerk. But in an endearing way.
And he's the one player who will always go full speed no matter the
situation.
