I'm a big Turco fan, but I say that if a goalie comes out of the paint, he
should be game to hit. The goalie interference call is supposed to be used
to stop players from just jumping on top of the goalie and creating space,
yet when the goalie leaves the net and skates into open ice, he is not
preventing scoring, but playing the puck. The fans are booing because they
believe that the goaltender wasn't goal tending when he was hit. Besides,
the Colorado player was just going after the puck. Is he supposed to not go
after it because someone else is going after it?

Maybe, but that isnt the rule. If this would have happened on the other end
of the ice, then Avs fans would have been cheering as our guy skated off to
the break room. Bottom line, a rule is a rule.
Regardless it was a blatant take down on a goalie. Sak knew the rules and so
did every av fan.
