Skating full speed to where the action is, is not against the rules... and
no one was in the way of where Riberio was.

I Disagree, Chris. As I stated to Taze, that so called butt end was reviewed
several times locally during the news and I just about laughed due to the
over dramatized reactions as if Osgood speared Ribeiro. He skated passed
Osgood who extended his stick. The end of the stick wasn't speared diectly
into him. He hit it as if passing a freakin toll gate. I've seen it done by
many goalies. IMO, it's nothing compared to Turco tripping Filppula, who
BTW, didn't have puck control, therefore, should have been interference, nor
the punch in the head to Holmstrom. I tried finding it on the replays in the
NHL site, but no luck.

I also saw 100% of the game and as I stated above, it was a punch to the
back of his head. The shoving is common from most any goalies who encounter
a screening player. He actually took his glove and hit Holstrom in the back
of the head. Holmstrom's helmet was shoved into his eyes and he quickly
moved it back. Nonetheless, it was a whiplash hit.

Into Ribeiro's face, yes. I'm going to assume that this 'unbiased'
review happened on local Detroit news?

Osgood knew exactly what he was doing, and he clipped Ribeiro in the
face. As Melrose said on espn, "What Osgood did was much more
dangerous than what Ribeiro did"(sic). It was certainly much dirtier
than anything Turco did.

A whiplash hit? Are we being a bit overdramatic here?

It wasn't bad. I saw it as a push, you saw it as a punch. How about
we compromise and call it a 'shove', and both note that it was done
with a relatively soft goalie's glove. Sorry SBH, but comparing a
shove in the back of the head protected by a helmet with a soft glove,
with buttending someone at full speed in the unprotected face, is
simply silly.

Hey, he learned from the dive f'ing master, Hasek. Obviously he has learned
well. I thought both guys deserved majors, Ozzy could have gotten an extra
two for diving.

True enough. Like I said earlier, I can't stand Turco, and I believe
he's the dirtiest goaltender in the league. One of the reasons why I
enjoy his annual May meltdown. That, and the fact that I don't like
the Stars anyway.

I hate Turco, but not as much as I hate Belfour. A very close second
indeed.

Holmstrom has waaaaaaaay more discipline than I'd have. After a couple of
whacks to the back of my legs and I'd be inclined to turn around and hit him
in the *goalie mask protected* head with my *soft padded* hockey glove. 8-D

Your not referring to BARRY MELROSE the ex LA, ex Red Wings farm system
coach who has the constant love affair with the Wings to Win the Cup year
after year after year? Not that guy is it? That idiot likes the Wings only
slightly more than Elz does. And we all know his bias.

And when were you figuring on them applying those penalties? In the
overtime? Game 3? Game 3's pre game skate? Jesus!

Stick to your messege boards Bob. Your getting exposed in here.

LOL...wait, come on Chris...Barry Melrose? The guy who hates the Wings with
passion? I wouldn't consider his hockey analysis. In fact, I'd listen to a
PeeWee player before I listened to Melrose. But that's another topic. We'll
agree to disagree.

It was reviewed at least a 1/2 dozen times directly after it happened
by Versus. If the stick was in Robiero's face he must be awful short.
