Can't stand him but hes the agent equivalent of Brett Hull.

"The NHL is about half European now," Winter noted.

well, uh, no....

"If you can go back and play in Russia or Switzerland and you can get, say,
$300,000 US tax free money and they'll pay for a house and car, why wouldn't
you go?" You'd have to make about $750,000 US in the NHL to equal that,"
said Winter.

hmmmm, math not your major Rich? What kind of car is that? Testarossa? Will
Shania be your neighbor? Does she go? nudge nudge wink wink!

Earlier in the week, Winter told an Ottawa-based reporter that European
players could head home for "a year off from the bad coaching and the
brutality of the NHL, leaving an environment that's become so dismal."
He backed off from that position when questioned later in the week.
"Maybe that's a little harsh. Not all coaches are bad, but Europeans do see
some brutality in the NHL game. I see the European games like soccer and the
NHL like rugby. It's a different style."

Rugby? Rich must be reading my posts ;o)

Winter has Mike Comrie as a client, too. "We've looked at that step (Europe)
and who knows, maybe the World Hockey Association," said Winter

haha Maybe they don't know Commie in Europe. Better not sign with Modo
though as somebody knows you there!

heres my favorite quote: (I,m not sure if I'm offended that this guy thinks
like me)

Agent Winter favours managerial stupidity as the reason for rising salaries.
Teams tend to be run by former players and these men have been constantly
outfoxed by the agents, who tend to be lawyers, Winter says. "The problem is
that the NHL has hired a bunch of incompetents ... (Oiler GM) Kevin Lowe is
an OK guy, but what qualifies him to run a $100-million organization, to
make decisions?"

zing!
ph rings............ uh Rich, this is Kev can I trade you?

ps whats with this guys name? Rich Winter! prophetic at all?

Perhaps not by coincidence theres approximately 250-300 free agents this
apocalyptic pre-cba summer.
BTW saying Salo chose to retire is kinda like saying Chretien chose to step
down. Salo had no offers, none were likely and he just did the way too late
face saving thing. Please take no offence to this reply but the name Salo
still elicits some heated reaction around here.
