When's the last time a playoff team had a game like that?

Ah, you're running under the assumption that they're playoff caliber.
I've not had that assumption, and expect them to be 'rebuilding'
with youth from Bridgeport/trades. I give Gordon two years before
they're playoff material.

I'll agree - but that mediocre goalie can hardly be blamed for
the current situation. He hasn't been healthy enough to play.
Had he been healthy, one wonders if there were a few games that
he might have stolen - or lost based on his play. I give kudos
to Joey McDonald in that he has had to play 17 or the last 18 games.

Playing in the cesspool that is the mausoleum and for a losing
team isn't going to attract fans/free agents. Why the town of
Hempstead insists that the revitalization of the mausoleum can't
happen is beyond me. As for the free agency, few are willing to
sign beyond one year (when they do sign) and that leads to limping
in at 8place (possibly) and having to figure out what free agents
to get the following July 1st... Building from within is a better
long term answer...

Sure, blame the economy. :)

This is starting to feel like a doomed team, like Wang's not going to
put anything into it until he gets his project built, and we've started
the deflationary spiral with no way out but dissolution. Or maybe it's
maybe just the economy overall right now.
