From today's NY Post....

The Rangers and Brendan Shanahan are on the verge of completing a one-
year deal, with the club seeking league approval on the structure of the
bonuses that will be included in the 38-year-old winger's contract, The
Post has learned.

It is believed that Shanahan, who told The Post on June 20 he would work
with the Blueshirts in order to grant the team as much cap
maneuverability as possible, will sign for a base of approximately $2.5M
with an additional $1.5-2.5M in readily attainable bonuses.

"Glen [Sather] has been really good in communicating with me while he was
dealing with the [Henrik Lundqvist and Sean Avery] arbitration issues,"
Shanahan told The Post on Saturday. "I said all along I had no desire to
test the market or accept other offers."

Shanny wants to be here, Jagr always wanted to be here, Drury it was a dream
of his as a kid to be here, Lundqvist is treated like royalty here..... we
may have to work on Gomez a little, after all he was a Dee-vil.

Shanahan - 1. Slow 2. Can't score 3. Good for one awful penalty per game Might be time to move him to the third line as a friendly grandfather type, and get some more talent on the second line.

Avery and Shanahan in a brawl - A verbal brawl. A verbal brawl made up of jokes. http://rangers.lohudblogs.com/2007/11/19/more-shanny-2/ ---- Shanahan opened the Scouting Report and showed it to Avery. “Look at this kid,” Shanahan said. “You would have been terrified of him.”....

What's The Deal With Alexei Cherepanov? - His stats in '05 were good. But, '06 and '07 (29 points in 46 games) they were hurting. 17th overall pick? I guess we shouldn't get our hopes up.

Only the Rangers - Only the Rangers could allow 1 goal in 3 games, and still manage to lose 2 of them. Both goalies were great tonight. Still amazing that the guys who get paid to score can't do it. Can we give Lundqvist the Vezina yet? Beating the Devils always feels....

It's such a privilege to be a Rangers fan - It's great that even in a meaningless preseason game, we managed an attendance of 18202. The sense of superiority I have over dumb Devils fans and Devils season ticket holders make me appreciate even more my sophisticated and refined lifestyle. Also,..
