Well, Chris Simon and various Philadelphia Flyers pull the spotlight
over to the NHL every now and then. I think in Gary Bettman's world,
any national exposure is good exposure.

The NHL made a decision to hitch its wagon to a single player while
completely discarding the quality and public perception of the game.
Now it gets what's coming to it during the All-Star break. I'm a
little shocked they haven't pulled off an emergency, Olympic-type
season delay to let Crosby recuperate. I'm sure a bevy of new, non-
existent penalties will aid Crosby when he steps foot back out on the
ice, and subsequently crumples to it when a defender skates by and
bumps him.
