| Dale mentioned that PJ plays much better at LW on the third line. It's
Dale's way of saying that Dave Lewis was crazy for trying to make him an
offensive force and that PJ's all-round game has dropped off as a result. Or
am I reading too much into it?

I agree with Dale. All year I was thinking the same thing. >> Stay informed about: Subtle criticism by Dale Arnold |

I'm kind of surprised...did Dale grow balls overnight? Because normally
criticism isn't part of his vernacular. He's always been just a lackey for
the organization, which is one of the many aggravating things about the guy.
Another is how he needs Brick's approval for everything he says. I would
love to see the announcers just tell it like it is instead of sugarcoating
everything. That being said, for god-freaking-sake, everyone can see that
PJ is being used inappropriately...everyone except the coaching staff. >> Stay informed about: Subtle criticism by Dale Arnold |

Speaking of criticism, last night I heard Brickley discussing Sheldon Souray
and Eric Brewer in terms of salary compensation, and when he brought up the
top defenseman in the league, he mentioned Pronger, Lidstrom and Niedermayer
but yet Chara, (the 2nd highest paid defenseman in the league and 7th
overall) was not on his list. Interesting. >> Stay informed about: Subtle criticism by Dale Arnold |

I can't recall who said it, but I think it was Jack Edwards. When
Primeau was dealt, it looked as though Donovan had a load lifted from
his shoulders. Granted he's not a goal scorer, but he has been more
effective without ol' cement shoes Primeau as his pivot.
I really can't stand Dale. I look forward to road game just to hear
Edwards calling a game. He's not the best, but I love it when he goes
off on players like St. Danny and Tucker. He throws a few good
references to old teams into it too. >> Stay informed about: Subtle criticism by Dale Arnold |

If Dale "said it" tonight (not on WEEI), you're mistaken- the B's
are in New Jersey, and he only does play-by-play at home. He doesn't
travel on the road. :) It would be the other announcer. >> Stay informed about: Subtle criticism by Dale Arnold |

I'm assuming that since Tony's original post is at 6:41 PM today, that he is
speaking of last night's game. >> Stay informed about: Subtle criticism by Dale Arnold |

OK, my mistake! ;) I went online after the game tonight to catch up,
and didn't notice the time. I knew it was posted some time tonight, and
figured he was referring to the game that just ended! >> Stay informed about: Subtle criticism by Dale Arnold |

You are right, it was stated during the Habs game....and an on spot

Charo, (cuchi-cuchi) is far and away the most overrated player in
the NHL. She is just one more reason that the Bruins are the
laughing stock of the NHL. They recovered from the Thornton fiasco
with the Savard signing, but they have yet to recover from the Charo
fiasco, and they won't because his contract is way to huge for any
other team to entertain.
cordially, as always,

I actually like Dale Arnold...and not Edwards, although I am getting used to
him. Its just the little phrases he uses that sound silly...like "kick
plate" for the bottom part of the boards, or at least once every game during
a penaly kill, saying they threw the puck "down the river." But I do
remember the Primeau/Donovan quote...almost as if Donovan was suddenly
paroled.

Caught that too. Nonetheless. I think in Chara's case, he was too overloaded
this year and wasn't prepared for it. His Ottawa team gave him much more
support last year. This year, he has pretty much had only his other
defenseman to pass to in many cases. I'll give him a bye until this team can
improve defensively. Souray, Pronger and anyone else would have suffered
here. >> Stay informed about: Subtle criticism by Dale Arnold |

Good point...Douglas Flynn mentioned in the Herald today that Chara looks
better already since being paired with Ward. >> Stay informed about: Subtle criticism by Dale Arnold |

Yeah, he (Dale) really softened it up too but if you can read between the
lines that's exactly what Arnold meant. I was also surprised at how critical
he was about the team on WEEI after Krejci got conked out in Buffalo by
Mair. But then again, who wasn't? >> Stay informed about: Subtle criticism by Dale Arnold |
