I agree that that the team may have a few more buck that they can
invest in retaining "some" of the talent, but where I was actually
trying to go with this, however unclear it was, "what is the bonus
structure paid by the league" for each level of completion a team goes
through in the playoffs over and above that which could be set out in
their individual contracts. Or in other words how much money will the
Flames players receive from the league for knocking off Vancouver,
Detroit, San Jose, and possibly Philly or the alternative Tampa Bay.
I realize the profits that the team owners make will go into reducing
their debt and possibly retaining a few of the players that may want
to drift away.
