I can't imagine a suspension for the Orr hit, as Campbell would have
replay and the ability to see that it wasn't even a penalty.

I can see a brief suspension for Avery for punching through the
linesman in the third period, though.

You lucky bastard. I missed both the play and the replay, and have only
been able to watch in a tiny browser window.

Much as I hate the Rangers, being a FAKE Rangers fan, I am reluctantly
forced to agree with Mr. Blue-Glasses Fan.

With all the brains in the NHL front office, I expect nothing less than
a 50-game suspension.

I think it's telling that, so far, Laviolette hasn't whinged about how
Orr is the worst person in NHL history and should be banned for life.
Any coach who actually believed that there was some sort of evil intent
would be doing so as we write. So I would guess that Laviolette feels
that the hit was not so dirty as to warrant suspension.

What's up with Avery picking a fight after the linesmen hold him back?
That was pretty stupid, and it could have cost the win.

Get ready to be disappointed.

Campbell will trot out some platitude about previous infractions and suspend
ORR three games.

Sorry, Orr's a Ranger? Seven games.

I can't imagine the explosion that Renney and Sather would have if Orr
gets suspended for that under the guise of "protecting the head", yet
there was no action taken for the elbow to Prucha's head against
Minnesota.

Stop trying to attribute logic and facts to a tin-pot dictator who's
never gotten over being fired by the Rangers.

Zero games. It was more of a mid ice collision Rather than Orr trying to
take him out. It was a Helmet against Helmet that KO'ed Cullen, not Orrs
hands or elbow.
In fact the penalty itself was just an overreaction because Cullen was KOed.

Nicely put.

Here is my take/addition:

First, it is difficult to tell whether Orr and Cullen collided without
intent. In other words: did Orr deliberately check Cullen? I say this
because because it looks as though Orr put up his hands in defence.

Second, if Campbell is to review this will he also review Commodore's
instigation? The refs screwed this up. Commodore sought out Orr and
started the fight. He should have been given two for instigating, 10
minute misconduct and game misconduct.

Third, I expect Campbell will suspend Orr for 5-8 games. The reason is
because of who was hit.

Did you get that saddle bag for the scooter this X-mas? You know to

I missed the game. Why would Orr be hitting Cullen?
