How many people here think Turek may see some ice time if the Flames
play the Sharks in round 3.

I wonder if Sutter might make that decision. I say that because
Kiprusoff is a former Shark and San Jose is probably more familiar with
his style (and his weaknesses) than any other team in the league
(excluding the Flames, of course.)

Kiprusoff has carried the Flames into the playoffs, and I don't expect
Sutter to stop using him unless Kiprusoff gets hurt.

It would also be a terrific story for Calgary if Kiprusoff could upset San
Jose in round three, as well... I'd love to see the unwanted 3rd string
goalie from the Sharks system upset his old team.

In any case, Calgary has to concentrate on beating Detroit right now - if
the Flames take a team too lightly, the score could easily be 4-0 by the
middle of the game.

Well, Sutter is a former shark coach, and that's something I consider to be
a HUGE advantage should both teams advance... I trust him to make the right
call in goal, but I don't think he can risk turning his back on Kipper after
everything we've seen in the last 1/2 year.

Sharks fan here. The Kiprusoff playing for Calgary is a whole
different guy than the one that played in San Jose. I don't know if
it was just the change of scenery or knowing he's the #1 guy in
Calgary, but he's a much better player. Any weaknesses Kiprusoff
showed in his San Jose days no longer apply.

Worrying about Kiprusoff is on the back-burner for now. Instead,
Sharks fans are just hoping the Sharks don't join a select infamous
list of teams to blow 3-0 series leads.

Regards,
Chris

On the other hand, Kiprusoff is probably more familiar with the Sharks'
players, and their weaknesses, than any other non-Sharks goaltender in the
league.

I say zero chance of that happening.

Well, as long as Kiprusoff is healthy, he would start against the Sharks
(assuming Calgary beats Detroit, and San Jose beats Colorado).

Ummm, it works the other way too.... Kipper knows the sharks and Sutter
Definately knows the sharks as well.

Either way.. Kipper is in, all the way.

Kiprusoff has significantly improved his play since David Marcoux went
to work on him here in Calgary. If the Sharks are counting on facing the
same Kiprusoff they dumped for a second-round pick, they're likely to be
disappointed.

Yeah, it seems to me we've seen that happen in Game 6 before -- & well
within the last 10,000 years, too. 8-(

I think all teams in the league are familiar with Turek's weaknesses.

It will impossible to find a more motivated guy to do some serious
sharkflavoured paybacking than Kipper.

Kipper all the way.
Sutter will have to be completely out of his freaking mind to sit a goalie who blanked the Wings 2 games consecutively.

Kipper was a big favorite in SJ. They had 3 great goalies, so no use in
not trading one away. Now, as far as a "revenge against your abusive ex"
angle for this series, nothing even comes close to Korolyuk/Sutter.

Sutter abused this kid, wrecked his confidence, blasted him in the
press, skyboxed him, until he was a shell of a player. He didn't even
play in SJ last year. Now he can prove what an ass Sutter is by burning
him in this series. I expect the guy to play his guts out.
