I'm in L.A. and it's been tough to get info even out here -- the Kings have
been very tight-lipped about his status.
Here's what I do know: Bure has either a protruding or herniated disc which
may require surgery, since it hasn't responded all that well to cortisone
injections. I think the surgery would require 6-8 weeks of rehab, which
would put him out until late January or so if he were to get it done
quickly.
Even without the surgery, I wouldn't expect him in the Kings' lineup anytime
soon...best-case scenario would be sometime around the middle of December,
from what I understand.
I'm hoping this isn't another Allison/Deadmarsh type situation, but this is
the Kings, after all -- anything's possible.
