I don't hate Vinny, I think, unbiasedly, he was the best player in the NHL
this season. But I referring to his first couple of years. I didn't like
him because he was cocky. I didn't know that fact was even arguable in this
group, apprently it is.

I wouldn't mind his salary, kinda jealous of that though.

Seems you are the only one making the argument that he was "cocky". Never
heard it from any source or fan other than you. Most Vinny haters like
yourself usually want to make a case that he is lazy and just doesn't work
hard enough.

You'll be a happier person if you can stop being jealous of those so far out
of the mainstream. Accept that you are a ham'n'egger and make the best of
it.

Oh, so now you admit that he WAS cocky? But it's a GOOD cocky! Last time I
checked, cocky was the negative was of saying "confident". I've lived in
Florida for only 5 years but there's not THAT much difference of vocabulary.

To me cocky is usually bluff & bravado, usually obnoxious and usually
conceited, which is clearly the way you are also interpreting it. So,
no, I do not "admit" that he was "cocky" in the negative manner in
which you are using it. I have never heard anyone who knows the young
man personally say that he is "cocky" the way you are implying. I have
met & spoken with the man myself both in the early days and later on
and I have never found him to be anything other than polite, respectful
and humble. I know a number of people who have interracted with him
more than I and none of them has ever gotten the impression that he is
obnoxious, conceited or "cocky."

End of conversation.

Other than the media, his coach, and the guy himself whom you know so well.
And this isn't ebonics we're talking about here, cocky and confident are 2
different aspects of a similar meaning for a reason. Bad doesn't mean good.
