"Despite the long ban, the Islanders signed him to a one-year deal this
summer for $475,000 and included another $325,000 in potential bonuses
based on games played."
Well, at least the Isles will save their bonus money.

Wow, first time I've seen the video...no excuse for something like that,
none at all. I'm glad to see the Islanders doing the right thing.
I'm sick of people trying to justify this kind of thing. Sooner or later
someone is going to get killed.

I'm sick of you always coming to the defense of the guy who gets his

Perhaps, but Jarkko Ruutu didn't try to amputate Chris Simon's foot.

What an empty apology. Not once did he mention Rutuu by name. Instead it was
all "me, me, me. I will go to counseling, I will be a better player, i need
time, I need assistance", blah blah. It was all about him, and what he
needed to do to get back in the game. Not one word about the guy he could
have crippled for life or ended his career.
What a loser. Not worthy of playing in the NHL, IMO. Give him his walking
papers. >> Stay informed about: Wallows in Anger Management |

Ruutu just slams players into the boards from behind trying to break their
necks. >> Stay informed about: Wallows in Anger Management |

Perhaps, but he didn't do that to Simon. The point being, *in this
incident* Ruutu is innocent, whatever he has done in the past. Just
like Hollweg last season.
