The Wild head down the road from Toronto to Detroit to face the Red
Wings tonight at the Joe. This will be their third meeting in less
than a week. They split a home-and-home series last week when both
teams won on home ice.
If Minnesota plans on being a contender for the cup this year they are
going to have to learn a way to start winning on the road. The Wild
have lost 9 of their last 10 road games, last night in Toronto was
their ninth loss in a row, a club record.
After last nights loss and Vancouver’s win Minnesota now sits one
point back of the Canucks for top spot in the Northwest division.
Note: Detroit News Online is reporting that Wings forward Mikael
Samuelsson (groin) and defenseman Danny Markov (broken right hand)
were on the ice Tuesday and completed practice. Barring unforeseen
developments, both will be in the lineup when the Wings face the Wild
