Wolves Mourn Breslin

Former Chicago Wolves left wing Tim Breslin passed away Wednesday night
due to complications from appendiceal cancer, which is a malignancy of
the appendix. Breslin was diagnosed in late November of 2004.

The Addison native and Driscoll Catholic High School graduate was one of
the first three players signed by the Wolves. He played five seasons with
the team, registering 37 goals; 82 assists; 119 points and 298 penalty
minutes in 330 games from 1994 to 1999 and won the 1998 Turner Cup
Championship with the Wolves.

Breslin also received the I. John Snider Trophy as the International
Hockey League?s Man of the Year following the 1996-97 season for his
outstanding community service.

?You could always count on Tim to come and compete every night and do
what was needed for the team to win,? said General Manager Kevin
Cheveldayoff. ?He wasn?t into personal glory, he was always a team
player. The entire organization grieves his passing and extends our
sincerest condolences to his family.?

A wake for Breslin will be held on Sun., Feb. 13, followed by a funeral
on Mon., Feb. 14. Both will take place at Malone?s Funeral Home in
Geneva, Ill. Times have not yet been announced.

The Wolves will recognize Breslin by wearing shamrock-shaped helmet
stickers bearing his initials. The team will also honor him before the
game at the Allstate Arena on Fri., Feb. 11, at 7:30 p.m., with a tribute
and a moment of silence.
