Great win against the Stars! Another BIG game for Gabby! - The Wild looked great tonight against the Stars at the Xcel. I wish I could have been there. But guess who gets beat on defense......SKOULAAAAAAA...ugh.....That was one
ugly play by Skoula. Someone should teach him how to take the body.

The Wild are playing great hockey right now overall. I wonder if there is
any chance they can pick up a scorer prior to the trading deadline.

Yes, they deserved better. I watched the replay and it looked like
Skoula just let the Dallas player walk right in front of the goal. That
is no mans land. Anyone within 10 feet of Backstrom should get popped
and put on the ground if they have the puck (or maybe even if they
don't). I just don't know what to say about that one. Skoula either
doesn't have the skill or needs help in the simple fundamentals. It is
a shame the game had to end that way. Good news is the Wild are playing
inspired hockey and retained 1st place. Glad to see they honored
Modano. I don't care what his skill level is, I would like to see him
retire in a Wild jersey.

Yeah, that was a tough loss.

The team, and especially Backstrom, played a great game and it's
tough to lose two games in a row after the Wild played so well
against two very tough teams.

The Wild put on a lot of pressure in that last period, but Mike
Smith had a really nice game in the net for the Stars.

I agree on Modano. As much as I have a dislike for the Stars,
all things considered, I respect Modano as a player.

At least the upcoming schedule for the next several games
looks to be in the Wild's favor.

And yes, Skoula stinks. At this point he is more of a detriment
on the ice than he is a benefit, IMO.

I was stunned to hear Lemaire come down on the team after their play
last night. The Wild played quite well and were just beat by a hot
goalie. Sometimes I wonder if I am watching the same game as Lemaire.
Perhaps this is just posturing to motivate the team, but other than the
lapse on defense, I don't see how they could have played much better.
Smith just appeared to be a wall.
