See I think history has proven that notion to be incorrect.

Being that this is a sports NG, there is an inherent need for
controversy. If he left (like he did before) the controversy
will go with him and the only posts remaining will be from
retards like yournamefirst wondering what time tonight's
game starts at.

Without debate the posts look something like this:

Pussay: Holmstrom is the best player in the NHL.
Yournamefirst: Yes! I love him.
Slider/Goobr: He's Good.
Pussay: Holmstrom is the best player in the NHL.
Yournamefirst: Yes! I love him.
Slider/Goobr: He's Good.

etc, etc.

Even if that were true, what difference would it make?

And who, exactly, is it that you think wants you here? Yet, you still
show up every day.

Wrong, Thomas and you drive people away that would like to talk Hockey
but can't or won't because they don't want to wade through your
garbage. They go to moderated forums where trolls like you and tommy
boy are banned. So, if trolls like you an tommy left, things would
pick up in here.

Personally, I find moderated forums to be boring as hell. Moderated
forums are to modern Singapore what usenet is to the wild west. I
don't need to be coddled, I don't want to be told what I can and
cannot say, and I don't mind the occassional (or consistent)
ridiculous comment/assertion/etc.

I'd honestly rather talk hockey with Tom, whom I agree with on perhaps
two or three issues in the entire scope of humanity, than a bunch of
"rah rah, Stevie Yzerman is soooooo cute" airheads in a controlled
environment.

Look on the bright side. This may be the last bastion of the old
Detroit-Colorado rivalry.

As opposed to the bi-weekly "what if Thomas left" post.

It was an entirely a hockey related thread about who were the better

If you want to, that's your prerogative. But keep in mind, if I don't
want to, that's my prerogative.

Oh, yes. I remember that one as well. Did it manage to stay on-topic
as far as players go, or did it regress into a discussion about
universal healthcare, the Canadian dollar, etc?

Who does or doesn't want me here isn't what we are discussing. Nice
try though. The fact is if you left any of the newsgroups no one would
really care. Chris likes discussing things with and might miss if you
went but at the end of the day he'd still be here.
