next best team has 5 players with 3 goals, not to metion we have
the most shorthanded goals in the playoffs

Actually I am very aware that all three wins were one goal games and
the one win for the Canes at home was a 4-3 SO win. Obviously, you
would agree that a 4-0 win in the last game of the regular season
doesn't tell the tale of the entire year nor does it predict anything
about the future.

Nice stats, did that count in the final standings, did that have any
effect on the seedings for home ice?

Yes, there are numerous reasons. First and more importantly, Gerber
was penciled as teh number one starter throughout the season. Just as
Miller, who is a great goaltender, was the number one starter with the
exception of his injury.

Finally...if you are saying the stats that favor Carolina are
unimportant...aren't the stats that you give that favor Buffalo, like
above, just as irrelevant.

So in other words, shouldn't the games be decided on the ice and not in
this news group?

Good point, Adam. Everybody seems to throw out regular season numbers
in an effort to win the Cup via statistics. If that's the way the Cup
was won, Detroit would have it right now.
