I think some of the AHL clubs are going to start with programmings soon- I'm
pretty sure the sports networks are waiting on the NHL to see if anything
comes up before they commit to anything. Thing is, AHL/OHL hockey is not
seeing increases in attendance...so I'm not sure if they'll get the ratings
they want.
Up around where I am, there's a few games a week of Kingston Frontenacs and
Ottawa 67's games....decent enough hockey...but I'm not all that interested
in it. Come to think of it, I won't be that interested when the NHL comes
back either.
Oh, and to further the media thing- when the lockout first started, it was
all over the place. Now they'll commit a few minutes here and there to idiot
callers with plans to save the league/NHLPA/world. Amusing but annoying.
NBA/NFL/CFL is leading broadcasts nowadays....and stuff like the NHLPA
meeting will get the lead story, but otherwise, it's on the backburner.
