Calle Johansson coming out of retirement to sign with the Maple Leafs ?

Does it or does it not sound like someone giving the big Finger to
management, given the fact that the Caps and he could or would not work
out a contract ? Not gloating or anything mind you, but this one kinda
smacks of the same thing that Paul Kariya did with Anaheim when they
couldn't do a contract either and he signed for league minimum (for his
player status I assume) with Colorado.

Also, I thought Kolzig was gonna be dealt by the deadline. No takers or
was the GM screwing around ? According to Mr. Leonsis, Kolzig was never
really shopped around, but the decision was made to build a new team
from the netminder out. How does that relate to Kolzig flatly stating
that he really didn't want to be part of a rebuilding program when he
was asked on ESPN some weeks ago ? Where does that put Kolzig in with
the team management given his statement on TV ?

I admit, I am a Penguins fan...and the rebuild is tough to watch...the
Capitals have more to build with than the Penguins did. Best of luck in
the rebuild.

Thoughts anyone ?

Paul

The Calle thing was all Casidy's screw up. Calle is coming back to DC as a
scout when the playoffs are over - the same job he's had all season.

Steph, despite being a French Canadian, you are right on this one.
