They are only 4 - 2, but I like what I see. The Bruins are moving the puck
well and finding the open man. They are also attacking the net, creating
scoring opportunities.

The defense has shaped up over last year, they are playing tough and taking
the body to the opposing team.

TT has been outstanding in the net, must have been the Yoga he has been
taking.

I like it too. I wonder where all the nay-sayers are. The 'I've
never been less interested in a Bruins season' crowd. The 'Fernandez
is a waste' crowd. The 'Chia is an idiot crowd'. Ah, they'll be back
if the B's start to lose. Me, I like the Bruins.

Nope, we're still here. And I am still firmly in the 'I've never been less
interested in a Bruins season' group. I watch, but very disenchantedly.
You guys act as if were 3/4 of the way thru the season and the Bruins are
leading the league. We are 4-2, for godsakes. Are you telling me that
you've never once complained about this team...not once??? That mediocre
players don't aggravate you? That not making the playoffs repeatedly is
okay? That finishing in the bottom of the conference is acceptable? It
takes a while to get over these things....a 4-2 record to start the season
is hardly a good enough reason. But kudos to you for the ability to stay
unwaveringly supportive of a team that hasn't won anything in 35 years.
Must be nice.

I was a Patriot fan that long before they were good, I'm talking in the
1960's the old AFL Boston Patriots. I am a Red Sox fan since the 60's
though they didn't win the World Series until 2004. I am a Celtic's fan
since the 60's even though they haven't won a championship for 20 years. I
have stood by all these teams through good and bad years. I am a Bruins fan
even though they haven't won a cup for 35 years.

I have never been, nor will I ever be a bandwagon fan. I can't play the
sports at the level that these professional can so I have no room to
complain about their talent.

Not exactly a fair statement. They haven't won the Stanley Cup in 35 years
is more correct. Actually, they had many successes shy of the Cup and were
the most entertaining dollar in town for many years. It's only since Cam
retired that they got boring.

Sure I complain, but there is no other sport that I like watching more
and there is no other team that I follow. As I'm sure you have heard
before. If you don't root for the same team that you rooted for as a
kid, please don't call yourself a fan.

One interesting piece to you posting is the 'mediocre player' comment
is this talent or not the names on the names on the sweaters that you
would like to see? - with the salary cap the Bruins are like almost
all teams they are a handful of high priced players and then the
'bunch'. Each year the cap will take a toll leveling the players
salaries to the point that I think you will see more equalibrium in
the talent/salary front as contracts expire. Look at the Rangers -
Jagr, Gomez and Drury make up I think more than 50% of their salary
cap.

So what you guys are saying is that you aren't a real fan if you complain?
What does that say about most of the posters here? Because I have been a
poster to this newsgroup for longer than I care to remember, and I've seen
just about every rant imaginable from most of you at some point in time. In
fact,
we do more complaining than anything else. I don't know where the heck some
of you
get off discerning what constitutes a fan. As far as I'm concerned, as long
as I still have
the energy to complain, I'm still a fan. Get off your holier-than-thou
soapboxes and
discuss the game. That's why we're here - not for some of you to ordain your
own
personal criteria for who is and isn't a fan.

Hooray for you. Please note that being a fan and having a low level of
excitement for a season are mutually exclusive.

Sheesh. There's one in every NG huh? The "love the team
unconditionally and offer support no matter what or you aren't a fan"
folks...

I'm right here. Fernandez is a waste. Thomas is playing just fine. Chia
has made some bad moves. Let's not go nuts...I'm willing to admit that the
team has looked better overall this year...but its 6 friggin' games. Lets
let them get some games under their belt before we go too nuts with the
accolades, no?

I'm a naysayer this year. It's been too friggin brutal to be
otherwise.

I will give credit to one person. Julien. He's made the biggest
difference overall. He plays the younger players and actually sends
people in on the forecheck. And he's not afraid to let them fight.

Can you strap on a pair of skates and compete? Hell ask for a tryout, it
appears from your tone you can do better.

Wait a second. You are Richard Carlisle from the Sox NG, aren't you?

Tread lightly Rich. If this guy/troll is indeed Richard Carlisle, you
don't want to give him a platform for his foolishness.
