That they can only put one good game in out of every 5?

Because the opposition only puts in one bad game out of 5.

I'm not sure. What happened to all that Stanley Cup talk that was going on
around here? Predictions about being in first place by such and such date? I
miss that kind of brilliant banter. I predict they will be in first place in
the division by the end of the month and first place in the conference by
the end of February.

I'm currently posting this from my spot on the parade route. I'll be
here all season long.

The D has fallen apart, there's no power play, Henrik has lost his
luster, and our forwards have trouble scoring. Oh, and the Avery effect
has disappeared. Yeah, the cup is ours!

I'll actually give an unbiased, honest assumption. I think they are playing
this way for the same reason they played so poorly when they tried to make
themselves an All-Star team with Bure, Lindros, Jagr, Holik, etc. There's
only 1 puck. When you've got Jagr, Prucha, Shanahan, Gomez, Straka, and
Drury, they're all used to being the go-to-guy on their line and scoring.
When you've got a ton of guys like that and there's only 1 puck, they don't
work well cohesively and their quality chances disappear. It doesn't help
that the D is playing the way they are, but Lundqvist is still one of the
top 5 goalies in the league any given day. I honestly feel that building
All-Star teams via free agency always yields these results.

No wonder you're doing such a good job in St. Louis!

The last two years we had an NHL TEAM.

This year, we have a rotisserie league team.

No offense but you're saying something that's been said a billion
times before and in a much more eloquent manner.

You're not going to come into this newsgroup and tell us anything we
don't know already.

I'm just pointing to situation and result. Last time the Rags stacked their
team, they finished in the cellar. Then they unloaded a good deal of it,
and they were doing well. Then, this year, after their best playoff
performance in years, they go out and stack the team again, and are now
sitting in last place.

You, of all people, should be ready with your patented apologies for the
Rangers' dismal play. The puck was rolling, they need to gel, they
faced a hot goalie, they got unlucky bounces, and so on and so forth.
But, at this point you should be thinking about how you're going to
fleece fellow GM Sather, rather than giving advice to him!

actually I think its the lack of Jagr and Drury playing to what they should
be, and Gomez should be on the line with Shanahan and Avery to guys who do
go to the net, no sense in having Gomez go down the middle to throw the puck
out to the sides to Jagr and Straka, Have Dreary on the line with Jagr so
that Jagr can become the quarterback and have Drury go to the net which he
likes to do and be fed by Straka and Jagr. Gomez and Jagr both want the puck
no good. leave the Kid line alone they are coming along nicely. Renny loves
playing the 4th line against the opp best line so they are going to get a
lot of ice time. so right now outside of trades change Drury and Gomez and
see what happens.

I'm not trying to. A guy asked a question and I gave an answer.
