Can't argue with stats. Through 26 games the Rangers have a league low 1.88
GAA. San Jose is 2nd with 2.08. A league low 51 goals surrendered. They are
tied for 4th in the league in PK as they have dropped off a bit lately.
Lundqvist is second in the league in GAA behind Osgood with 1.83. 3rd in the
league in save % at 93%. And 1st in wins with 14. Tied for second in
shutouts.
With those numbers, good things will happen. I hope they keep it up. It
would be quite a unique and significant if they could keep it going for the
season. And I think it's absolute hey for any kind of playoff success. 2
season ago they finished 4th in the league after a very dismal finish. But I
don't think their defense was anywhere near as good as it is now. Nor were
their defensemen anywhere near as solid or capable of playing composed
crunch time hockey.
Credit to Renney where credit is due. It's not easy to get an entire team
buying into this type of system. But he's got his team buying and believing.
Now they only have to keep it up for 56+ games. *YIKES* >> Stay informed about: Best defense in the league! |

Maybe this is the first year of the Rangers own annual, inexplicable
SIXTY game winning streak?

You're lucky this is a rah-rah post, or Iommi might be getting tired

But now all the FAKE Rangers Fans are tired of kovy's act.
Did you count my vote yet? What's the tally so far?

It's not often the Rangers are the best defensive team in the league. Please
let me enjoy it.

I hate real Rangers fans. They only post when the Rangers win and disappear
from the face of the earth during 7 year playoff-less streaks while the rest
of use FAKE fans live through revoltingly miserable turmoil.

If you don't like the newsgroup, you could always create a new one. Let
us know if you try, so I can try to see the reactions of usenet admins
if they ever see your sure-to-be-improperly-formatted newgrp.

As you say stats don't lie. #2 in the east GA last 2 years without an
allstar D-man. Correct.
I know its hard for you and Keller to agree with me but sometimes if you
don't it only makes you look like an ass.
Especially Keller who only watches edited games, at least I know you do
watch so there is no excuse. >> Stay informed about: Best defense in the league! |

If you're going to wash my dishes [0] so I can watch the games on Center
Ice, I'll be happy to watch entire games. (I suppose you could also
lobby the NHL to move all Eastern time games to a 11pm Eastern start;
knowing the NHL, they're stupid enough to think that's a fantastic
idea.)
--keith
[0] not my real job, of course, but if it convinces you that it's your
fault I can't watch entire games, believe what you want!
