Eddie MIGHT help for one year, but he is an improvement on what we have now.

That might well be the point. Get a veteran goaltender in for a year or
two so that he might help mold Morrison and Jussi.

Eddie is old and not worth too much in trade value, but this is a
ridiculous underpaymentfor Eddie.

Toronto would want a goalie in return. Conklin is proving that he is
anything but. If the Oilers have to send a goalie to get a goalie you
can bet you'll be saying good bye to Markannen again.

Eddie can still play, but he won't take anybody far in the playoffs
anymore. He'll be around to get you to the playoffs, maybe he can steal
a round, but he's there for a young'un to observe. With Eddie's selfish
attitude he won't be mentoring much to any young guy.

Does he have a no trade clause left over from his old contract or did he
sign his deal after the new CBA was penned? Should the Leafs deal Eddie,
he may only accept a trade to a team that is strong on defense and a top
contender.
