I know the Pens have not included Marios salary yet but I was just wondering
after the qualifying offers to there own people what the Pens have left. I
know the may have to pay Malkin 2 mil or so.

And what the going price would be for Kariya and Selanne.

The Penguins will have plenty of available cap space, since they are not
planning on getting near the 39 mio. $ limit. They are going for a
payroll of about 32 mio.

So far they have these players under contract accordin to tsa.ca:
Player 2005-2006 Salary (US)
Sergei Gonchar $3.5 million
Mark Recchi $2.28 million
Andre Roy $1 million
Ric Jackman $760,000
Sebastien Caron $646,000
Rico Fata $551,000
Lasse Pirjeta $456,000
Ryan VandenBussche $450,000
Tomas Surovy $450,000
9 Players $10,093,000

Plus qualifying offers, Crosby and Mario I just wonder if there is exact
amount anywhere. I know some of the people they made qualifying offers may
sign somewhere else if Pens don't match there offers.

Under the new CBA, entry level players for 2005, 2006 get a MAX of 850,000
plus signing bonuses, incentives, etc.

Players signing their first contract between the ages of 18-21 are required
to sign for 3 years (2 years for players age 22-23)

So Crosby and Malkin are really are a non-factor to the cap.

Good news.

2 mill possibly with bonuses and incentives.
His salary (against the cap) would max at 850,000, as per the new CBA.
