I think Renney used him so much because he was pretty successful at it
with the Hurricanes last season.
I never got it myself. There were always 3 or 4 guys I would rather
have seen go than Cullen whenever it was his chance. I know Jagr
refused every now and then, but there were still better guys at the
time.
Cullen should be used defensively on the third line. He does a good
job of gaining control of the puck -- but then he just needs to hold
onto it and rag it around until the talented players aren't tired
anymore. He should get a pay deduction every time he elects to shoot. >> Stay informed about: Scary good |

The odd thing about him is that he tries to do moves more than anybody else
in the entire league. He always tries some in and out move or he dangles and
tries to finagle the puck past the defenseman. The reason it's odd is that
he is very rarely successful with it. He is always half-way successful with
his moves. If somebody never saw him before they would assume he is one of
the elite players in the league but is just having an off game with all the
attempted razzle dazzle. >> Stay informed about: Scary good |

Well I hope they use Cullen on the point more then. He had 8 power
play goals last year with Carolina, while having a career high 25
goals and 49 points. Great in the shootout, and he's been a good
penalty killer for us. I don't think I'd get rid of him. >> Stay informed about: Scary good |

As if we could with the contract Sather signed him to.
He played the point well for Carolina so we sign him and play a one-armed
Straka on the point instead.
He went 6-for-9 in shootouts last year so we make him our go-to guy there.
What was he? 2-for 8 this year? >> Stay informed about: Scary good |
