Twilight of their careers? You're really grasping at straws now. Dilfer won
it in his 7th season, his 6th as a starter. Warner won it in his 2nd season,
his first as a starter. Also, compare Dilfer and Ben's numbers. They're
strikingly similar. >> Stay informed about: Its a good time to be a Burgh fan. |

I feel your pain, man. I still wear my Clemente Jersey. I'm afraid to
buy a jersey with a current players name on it, because if they're good
enough to have a jersey for sale, they'll likely be traded to the Mets.
It's even worse for me. Being a fan of a shitty team from a city I'm not
even from. lol >> Stay informed about: Its a good time to be a Burgh fan. |

I think baseball used to be good. That is, until the players union staged
that coupe and took the sport over. Bud Selig has no spine. I reccomend
as the next baseball commissioner: Dwayne "The Rock" Johnson. YES! No
more force outs; body slams. No more inside fastballs; chair shots. I
think I might be on to something here. >> Stay informed about: Its a good time to be a Burgh fan. |

I'm not looking at Ben through rose colored glasses, your points are
very well taken. I have no illusions of him ever being a Marino,
Montana, Manning, Brady, etc. But you're being very dishonest when
you say that Warner was in his 2nd season. No it wasn't the twilight,
but it was his 5th as a pro; only his 2nd in the NFL. >> Stay informed about: Its a good time to be a Burgh fan. |

Actually it was his 3rd in the NFL. He spent 1994 on the Packers
practice squad. >> Stay informed about: Its a good time to be a Burgh fan. |

Practice squad =/= an NFL season. Neither do seasons in NFL Europe. I
certainly wasn't being "dishonest." When Doug Flutie came back to the NFL,
did you say it was his 12th(?) season, or did you say it was his 5th? I
would certainly say it was his 5th, because no other league compares to the
NFL in any way, shape, or form. >> Stay informed about: Its a good time to be a Burgh fan. |

"Dishonest" is probably an overstatement, but yes, I considered
Flutie's years in the CFL to be his 12th(?) season. The CFL is
certainly not the NFL, but it is still pro football.
Case in point, it's very admirable on the part of Dice K to allow
himself to be treated as a rookie by his teammates, but he is far from
it. >> Stay informed about: Its a good time to be a Burgh fan. |

You're awfully quiet. It's a shame you got proven wrong on every point you
made in only one day.
Romo lit the Rams up, even making something out of nothing with his 30+ yard
scramble for the first down.
Ben threw the game away, just like I said he does.
Brett Favre now has 8 TDs on the year after yet another stellar game. That
makes it:
Favre - 8 TDs, 2 INTs, 97.3 rating, 65.9%
Roethlisberger - 8 TDs, 3 INTs, 94.1 rating, 57.8%
Boy.. those Browns numbers sure helped Ben.
The Giants sure had an impressive win. 12 sacks.
Griese had 3 picks, and 2 went off receivers. But I'll give you one of them
that went off the receivers and say he threw 2 picks that were his fault.
That ties him with Ben for the day. Griese must be one hell of a QB,
considering Ben's so good.
Oh, and for the record, even the sportscasters (with the exception of 1 or
2) agree that Favre is not "managing the game" or playing it safe. He's
playing the exact same game that he always has. If you saw any of the
Packers game and/or highlights, you'd see that.
Thanks for playing, though. >> Stay informed about: Its a good time to be a Burgh fan. |
