OK, so he's older and probably has broken down quite a bit. So he doesn't
have his shot any more. And he can't skate so well anymore. And his
motivation isn't there anymore. But what happened to the eye catching
passes? And the stick moves? And the playmaking vision? How can somebody
lose so much in one off season? Is it really age diminishing someone so
much? Or is it confidence preventing him from doing these things? Or is he
just "lost" at the moment?

He misses Nylander.

He'll turn it on after Christmas

He just needs more time to gel with Gomez and Drury. All REAL Rangers
fans knew this already.

I don't know. He's still probably the best stickhandling player on
the team. 3 out of 5 times he'll skate directly into 2 defenders, and
still somehow manage to come out with the puck. The problem with him,
though, is that he can't move it, whether it be shooting or passing.

I think it's a laziness issue more than a mental one. His power and
touch have been drained a bit, and so he has to compensate with
effort. The Buffalo goal last night would indicate that that's not
something you're going to get from him, so that's why he's been so
average this year. He can't get by on talent alone anymore.

It could take years for the gelling to happen. Some people around here
think that hockey cups should be won every 30 years or less. Real
Ranger fans know that a cup winning team takes half a century of
grooming and gelling to achieve greatness.
