How many shots did he miss, 2 or 3...hit the net for @#%@$# sakes!
Demitra needs some good glasses too with all those back passes and
centering passes that never work.
Bottom line...No Luongo = sub 500 team. >> Stay informed about: nevermind Sundin... |

If we'd had a competent backup we'd have a couple more wins since Luongo
went down. The whole team plays a lot more tentatively when the goalie's
playing beachball.

The rest of the dogs can't hit the net either, but seldom can any of them
get the puck past the legs of the checker even to miss the net. So I think
we should praise Bieskasas accuracy !
Edler. I don't think I've ever seen a guy regress with experience. Trade the
sucker now while they could get a 7th round pick before his value drops.

Combine that with the fact they let in the softest of the softest goals
and.....
That second goal on Sanford was pathetic. I and others [ I only
mention ' others ' so as to not appear to be bragging :-) ] mentioned
how he loses the net and that explains his backup career.
Man on that second goal, from the camera angle from behind, he
wasn't even covering half the net on his angle. Great position if he
wanted to stop a puck hitting the back boards.

"Injuries are part of the game and the goaltender that we picked up has
played some really good games for us in the past." - Alain Vigneault
The coach continues to amaze.
btw, I notice that Wellwood was all of a sudden getting the top assignment
at C in the last minute but is no longer good enough to play on the first
unit pp. I guess V felt that pairing him with the sniper Bernier would buy
us some goals.
I really give up. >> Stay informed about: nevermind Sundin... |

No kidding, I was banging my head too. Have guys, like Bernier and Pyatt who
get tons of chances and miss empty nets, ever developed into snipers who
bury 'em ? I'm going to guess no. They seem to be the type of players, full of
promise, who retire full of promise.
I hope Gillis doesn't hold on to them until they have no value. Deal 'em
now. GMs are suckers for guys like Pyatt at 6'4" 220. They drool at the
size and promise.

| Related Topics: | sundin - would be good here.
It just occurred to me, re Sundin............... - Just as an owner can grant other teams permission to talk to a GM they might be interested in getting, a GM can do the same for his coaching staff or players. So if Fletcher had an offer he liked, he could let them talk to Sundin and make their pitch. ....
sundin sign yet? - no? as u were then...
So Sundin is toast....... - ....... then what ? Trade is the only answer but I can't see a single 1st or second line center who could be got. Sundin doesn't come, we're hooped. The only hope would be if someone could come out of the woodwork, Wellwood, Raymond, the farm, and..
SUNDIN SIGNS - http://mapleleafs.nhl.com/team/app/?service=page&page=NewsPage&articleid=334648 To bad that was last year. If August 1st comes and he hums and haws he can go F**K himself ! |
