Not sure I agree with the whole Graves thing, but all in all it was a
nice ceremony.

Mark Messier looks like he could rip a phone book in half in between
crying spurts. That guy actually upped his physical training after
retirement.

It was worth it just to see Graves face. He looked like he was going to pass
out. I think everybody knows the organization loves to milk these things.
They love to play on the dumb sentiments of the fans that'll eat it up.
Graves is beloved but that isn't something that merits a jersey retirement.
There are so many players in Rangers history that should get their jersey's
retired if Graves deserves it. Well, whatever. That foursome is a very
beloved group

Just in case he gets the call. One more run? *stare*

PS- is there anybody better to listen to than Richter making wise cracks
throughout a cermeony. It's gold.

Yeah. I softened my opinion a bit when it dawned on me that these
jersey retirements aren't necessarily analogous to being in the hall
of fame, and it's more about what that particular player meant to his
team/city than the numbers he put up.

Good for Graves. They had a lot of material to work with when it came
to Leetch, but when it comes to Graves they're pretty much going to
have to focus on the 1994 regular season.

Anyway, when is Leetch eligible for the Hall of Fame?

P0ti definitely ... no one should have to wear a number associated
with him ever ...

O-kay...so when will Beck's number be retired? Or even JD (the real
one)? Those guys meant a lot to Rangers fans, but hey, no Cup, no
retirement ceremony?

Right after Cullen, IIRC.
