good grief.....73,000 brave souls (maybe crazy??) at the outdoor game - Doc
looks frozen. Players probably haven't played under these conditions since
they were 7 yrs. old.

What a hoot.

Looks like fun. Be even better if someone hit El Sid with a
snowball. :-)

A lot of ice maintenance delays though is making it real slow going.

Egads, a Mike Milbury sighting. They must've blown all their budget
on Doc.

I agree. There was no reason to play the Canadian anthem before a game
between two American teams in America.

I wonder if they were wearing the RBK Edge sweaters...
er...jerseys for that game. lol

And if they were going to import one of the "Irish"
Tenors for the game, why not bring in John McDermott
to do the anthem? He's only up the road in Toronto
and is a big hockey fan, sometimes doing the anthem
at Leafs games.

Tynan's version of God Bless America was terrible.
He should go listen to Kate Smith until he learns
how to sing it correctly.

Otherwise damn fine game, weird weather and all.

Nyssa, who enjoyed the Oilers-Habs outdoor game too

considered (dare I say it?) a success?

I never know when you're serious but for those who don't know, they
always play both in Buffalo.

But, in the HSBC Center, they post the words to "O'Canada" (yes, that
*is* an apostrophe!) on the overhead scoreboard.

They used to do it before games played at Cornell too. I don't feel it's
appropriate, any more than playing our National Anthem before a Toronto
vs. Montreal game.

We annexed it after the last US/Canadian War. In truth, Canada lost it
on purpose.
