Is it too much to ask that theres eventually a player vote on one or more of
the tabled offers? This to me has been conspicuously absent in the labor
dispute aside from the very quiet members tally to see if they'd accept the
word cap in the wording. Affirmative won. The absense of member votes
precludes representation.
Ideally I'd like to see at some point in the offseason 3 selected, seperate,
packages on the table that are submitted by the NHL and voted on by the
NHLPA. This would establish a threshold of consensus in the membership that
would be likely to tie Goodenoughs hand to a pen... NHL should push hard for
a vote soon as any refusal by Goodenough would continue to look non
representative.

Doesn't the NHLPA board or negotiating committee decide if a membership vote
is to proceed?...That's something I don't understand....Goodenow said at his
press conference that "a few" owners expressed they would accept the Players
offer if they could...I find that irresponsible when the Players were'nt
allowed to vote on the League's offers...There are likely several players
wishing they could have voted...Goodenow is toast next election for NHLPA
president IMO.
