The chances with the current team are nil. The question before the
season began would be whether or not the defense/Lundqvist could keep
them in games so that the offense could win it for them. Early on it
looked like that could happen, but now it doesn't. If Lundqvist isn't
laying an egg, the defense is shitting itself at every opportunity.
Jagr and Gomez may be scoring, but the fact that absolutely no one
else is is what's going to kill them. The speculation is that Sather
is trying to get a "big" defenseman. That's always a good idea, but
it seems too little and too late. Whichever young forward he ends up
trading away will be blessed with a 30 goal season next year, I'm
sure.
I can't envision anything getting better with Tom Renney as the head
coach. Maybe Tampa will fire Tortorella soon so the Rangers can grab
him. He may not work, but it would be nice to see some of the
floaters get a stick shoved up their ass every now and then.
The 4th line gets such a ridiculous amount of time that it actually
becomes distressing. Why was so much money wasted in the offseason
only to have 2 terrible players and an ineffective center playing more
than them?

I guess. I lose a little bit of excitement seeing our lone sniper
miss the net 4 times on a single 5 on 3 power play. How do you have
all the momentum, get a great opportunity like that, and then not even
make the high school backup goalie Tampa found in a gutter somewhere
make a save? Argh it's frustrating to even think about.
